The food at the lodge was absolutely delicious! From the crispy chips to the perfectly cooked fillet, every dish was a delight. The staff even went out of their way to prepare a special vegetarian dish for my partner, which she loved. The restaurant's decor added to the overall ambiance and made our meals even more enjoyable.
One downside we experienced was the noise from the trucks passing by on the street in front of the lodge. However, we were able to overcome this by requesting a room in the back, which provided a peaceful and quiet sleep.

Izimbali Lodge And Restaurant provided a delightful experience for senior guests like myself. The hotel's decorations were elegant and created a cozy atmosphere throughout. The general areas were well-maintained and easily accessible, allowing us seniors to move around comfortably.
The only improvement I would suggest is for the children working there to be more attentive and prompt in catering to the needs of senior guests.

The Perfect Stopover: During my stay in Ermelo, I stumbled upon a charming lodge located on the main route to The Kingdom of Swaziland and Lowveld. This uniquely positioned lodge was an absolute gem, offering stylishly decorated accommodation and a delightful atmosphere that was just perfect for any occasion. It truly felt like a hidden treasure amidst the grass and wetlands region of Mpumalanga Province.
They claimed to have called me three days prior to my stay, but no such call was received.

The lake was astonishing, went from being a lake to a few pools with flamingoes. The lodge offered free WiFi, but who needs that when you can enjoy the stunning San Rock Artwork?
The mosquitoes were on a mission to make me their meal, it was like a buffet for them.

I had a great stay at this lodge. The room was modern and comfortable, just like the pictures online. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for exploring the area.
The breakfast offerings could be improved with more variety.

The TV had a full DSTV bouquet and the room was spacious with a super comfy king size bed. The thoughtful gesture by housekeeping to move the emergency light to my preferred side of the bed was mind-blowing. The mattress, duvet, and pillows were absolutely amazing. The food was jaw-droppingly good, with crispy chips, perfectly cooked fillet, and yummy salads. They even made a special delicious vegetarian dish for my colleague. The restaurant decor was superb and the location was easy to find. The warm welcome by Mlungisi and Thabiso made us forget about our broken-down car. The restaurant, decorated with stunning paintings, served superb food. A shoutout to Drienie and her fantastic team for their genuine care and exceptional service.

Enjoyed the opportunity to witness some easily accessible flamingo gatherings. The lodge is conveniently located next to a mall, perfect for some retail therapy.
Surrounding art galleries were too sophisticated for my taste.

The décor at Izimbali Lodge created a warm and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a cozy country cottage. The soft colors and tasteful furnishings were pleasing to the eye, making it a comforting environment for senior guests. The common areas were spacious and well-maintained, providing easy accessibility for older individuals to navigate comfortably.
One improvement I would suggest for a better vacation experience for senior people is for the staff to be more attentive and accommodating. As the children working there, they should be trained to anticipate the needs of elderly guests and provide assistance where necessary, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable stay.
